We were seated right away, and the service was very good. They were flexible with leaving out milk products etc. for our guests with allergies. The chips salsa are tasty; get guacamole on the side! Solid drinks menu of beers of course margaritas, only a couple of wines but the cab was good. The Quesadillas were excellent, and the others found that the Chimichangas, Pollo A La Parilla, Chicken Fajita were also great. This location opened in 1918, and it’s easy to understand why it’s still a popular spot!
Great Homestyle Mexican!. This restaurant not only offers great food, but the service is awesome! The waitresses know us by name and treat us like family... this is what eating out should be like!
Best nachos in town, along with the best margarita money can buy. the grilled chicken never fails me. when i ask my wife if she wants to go out to dinner, her response is always, 'EL FENIX '?
The service was great everyone was friendly and efficient. They were out of both types of margaritas we ordered (peach mango) so we had to do strawberry regular. The drinks were decent strength and flavorful. The chicken chimichanga was just ok. I didn't like the cheese that was on it. I asked for white queso but got something else with a funky spice flavor to it. I can't say that I liked this place enough to come back it was just average.
So reading the reviews I was a little concerned, but went in anyway You have to keep in mind that the opinions expressed here are just that. Opinions. Your taste may differ from my and other posters. My opinion here is... 1. I would return again 2. I had the two taco plate. I didn't care for the plate, but don't let that stop you. I am on a low salt diet. A little too much for my taste. 3. Next time I will order chicken. 4. Service was great friendly. Fast.
