The Catch Lewisville

The Catch is one of my favorite restaurants! I really like the new owner, Rick—he's cool, laid-back, respectful, and very down-to-earth. He truly cares about the food. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend stopping by. It's definitely worth your time and money!

We arrived at 8:15 on a Thursday evening, well before their stated closing time of 9 PM, but found the restaurant closed. Another car showed up at the same time and faced the same disappointment. It appeared to be permanently closed. I had previously visited their location in Garland and my date enjoyed it, but now that she lives closer to Lewisville, we wanted to give this location a try. Unfortunately, this experience has made me decide that I will NEVER visit any of their locations again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service at the counter. The woman who took my order was incredibly sweet and even offered tips on how to pack my food for leftovers for my boyfriend. The sweet tea is genuinely sweet, and the shrimp étouffée was absolutely delicious. The bang bang shrimp is fantastic too! I've also tried the gumbo here before, and it was great. I highly recommend this place for lunch!

I am sad to give this restaurant a poor rating. The lady at the cash register wore a gorgeous top. I have a shellfish allergy but noted there was no disclaimer or accommodations for me (like making the extra step to cook in a different oil) Especially for the cost. Portion size was ok. The fries were nicely seasoned, but the catfish and chicken tenders, though crispy, had NO flavor. Hush puppies were nice.The young lady swept first, then wiped the table and dirted the floor again. She didn 't sweep it well. Then , I guess the owner was having a conversation about someone wanting you to use the bathroom but not a customer. Who cussed out who back there and who hid the toilet paper. It was odd! He also was not well kept.Dietary restrictions: They don 't make accommodations or offer to do so if you have a shellfish allergy. I feel they would have been ok with my money going elsewhere.

For anyone saying this is best seafood they have ever eaten, I feel like you have not eaten much fresh seafood. Place is dirty- floors tables dishes. Shrimp was good. Rice bland catfish I suspect was not catfish and salty. Not a great experience and would suggest going somewhere else. If dirty in the front of the house what is going on in the back of the house?
