Contribuisci feedbackThis is my favorite restaurant in town. It’s always good, but things were off tonight. Our server, Noah, was definitely struggling, not just with us but every table around us. The first bottle of wine we ordered wasn’t in stock. It took him 25 minutes to tell us that and another 10 to bring us a wine list, then 15 more to bring the bottle. And no shock, when I gave him two options of what we’d rather have instead, the far more expensive one was in stock and the one I said we’d prefer wasn’t in stock. Meanwhile, our food was getting cold while we waited for wine. He didn’t bring steak knives (another server did after realizing we weren’t digging into dinner while passing by). Then the initial bottle we ordered but wasn’t in stock was on the check along with the bottle we actually got, so we had to have him correct that, as well as another check error. I’ve never encountered service issues here, but tonight was rough. Food tonight was also really salty. This isn’t my usual experience here and I’d have normally said something, but with the other issues, I didn’t. The lobster bisque was great, as always. The filet special just needed less salt and it would have been stellar.
Food prep took approximately 1 hour after ordering (no special orders), charged $4 for basket of rolls, very noisy outdoor setting. Poor value for inflated prices! We have dined here on several prior occasions, but this time was a marked disappointment and we will not be returning.
Food was exceptional, service was on par, bit on the pricey side but for an anniversary supper it was worth it. For a steak meal, duck breast meal and two desserts (brownie with peanut butter ice cream, and a lava cake) $150 including tip. I would recommend to others for special occasions.
Excellent food! Great service. Friendly staff. 4/5 on ambience just because it feels a bit dated. But, I also think that’s part of the charm for some people. Be aware that if you pay by credit card, they pass the service charge onto the customer not uncommon these days. Also, the bread was an extra charge, Excellent steak, scallops masked potatoes.
The food and service were excellent, from the bar to the table! Our server Hunter was amazing. We will definitely dine again!
