Recently moved to Lexington from Chicago and this place has some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. That was confirmed for me yesterday when we ordered take out for dinner with friends who came for a visit en route to Florida. He is Asian born American and raved this was also some of the best Chinese he has had also... and that it was while in Kentucky... blew him away! Absolutely great food and the staff have always been very pleasant and appreciative. 5 stars and then some...
By far the best Chinese food I’ve had in KY! I’ve been a consistent customer for about 5 years or so. Only once was something missing from order and they offered it and added some donuts free of charge. Incredibly kind staff who recognize and remember you. Hard working. Food is always hot, fresh, and ready when she says it is. I always place an order in person, walk next door to Kroger, and it is ready by the time I’m back. Reasonable prices, always friendly with me. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Some recommendations: —Egg drop soup —Sweet and Sour Chicken —Bean Curd —Lo Mein —Happy Family —Bourbon chicken —General Tso’s Chicken —Pork egg rolls Honestly, if you don't like this place, I’ll buy your food for you. That’s how certain I am you won’t be disappointed.
For takeout Chinese, it's a good 5. For Chinese overall, 3.5-ish. I placed a family size order to go, and it was ready in under 15 minutes. The prices match the portion sizes, so if you're not buying for a family or group, I recommend sticking to the dishes that offer pint vs quart sizes and get the quart. Or expect leftovers. As for our order, the Mei Fun was excellent, and it's a hard dish to find. Fresh and flavorful, very light on oils for Chinese takeout. Flavor doesn't punch you in the mouth, but builds as you eat and is quite pleasant. Pork lo mein was good. Damp with sauce but not so wet you have to worry about slinging drops all over. Flavors were strong and rich. For both dishes, you could taste the various ingredients, instead of everything being dominated by saltiness or msg. Wonton soup broth was a little bland, but the wonton was very good. Flavorful and a good chew without being rubbery. Spring rolls were crispy, but I ate them first and burned myself on them so I can't speak very well to their flavor. Definite return for me. Solid quality at a good price, as long as you are okay with sharing entrees, else things get expensive and the leftovers pile up.
Best Chinese food in Lexington! Please help support this business! The owner is the sweetest lady ever! In the beginning of Covid when hand sanitizer was sold out everywhere she gave me one from her store supply. I can’t tell you just how much that kind gesture meant to me! I refuse to eat Chinese anywhere else!
