Tootsie is a living legend for good reason. She definitely knows how to smoke the finest meats. It was an honor to have her "Texas Salad" for breakfast. We hit the road from Austin at 4:30 AM and were numbers 48 and 49 in line. It was an amazing experience shared with a friend. I love Texas, and I love barbecue. This trip and this place make it easy to remember why.
We arrived at 4:45 AM, and we were #74 and #75 in line! Despite the rain, we had an amazing time! Make sure to bring chairs and rain gear! The food was delicious, with the turkey, ribs, and brisket being our favorites. The banana pudding was exceptional. Meeting Ms. Tootsie was a highlight; she took pictures with everyone and was incredibly friendly. The merchandise was great and reasonably priced too.
I was fortunate with the rain and barely had to wait in line on May 13th. I flew in from Denver to finally try this famous BBQ spot, and it did not disappoint. It was unbelievably delicious. I might need to make this trip more often!
Check out that smoke ring! I honestly believe it’s the best BBQ I’ve ever tasted. I ordered one of everything and even took home four vacuum-packed briskets. We were the first in line at 11 PM, and the line grew rapidly behind us. It seemed to explode while we were sleeping; we went to bed around 2 AM. Tootsie graciously allowed us to take a picture with her. What she has created—from the incredible food to the inviting atmosphere—is truly remarkable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the BBQ. They also have merchandise! Clean restrooms are available, too! Everything was fantastic.
