I was here several months ago and the livers were so burnt I took the rest of them home and gave to my dogs as a nighttime treat I will try again sometime in the future Thank you Mrs fowler
This was our first time there, and it was an unexpected, awesome find! The food was great and our server Debby was so nice and attentive. We will definitely be back!
Seating was prompt, service was good, and the atmosphere was decent but I would not return. I ordered the fried chicken special with collards and Mac and cheese. The food was simply not worth the price paid. The chicken itself was served lukewarm like it had been sitting under the light for atleast ten mins or had been reheated. The Mac and cheese was also lukewarm and dry and flavorless. The collards were unseasoned as well as bitter, as if they had not been cooked long enough and were only cooked in unseasoned water. The gravy on the chicken was also flavorless and the chicken itself was nothing special. I've had a similar entree that was even better at Cracker Barrel for crying out loud. I expect alot more for a place that prides itself on southern cuisine in a semi upscale atmosphere.
Best Fried Chicken and Grits ever! I have this once a week. Everything at The Root Cellar is delicious!
$30 for extremely thin Ribeyes that aren't even tender is a bit ridiculous, field peas/snaps under cooked and Macaroni cheese has a not bad but not good flavor. Pretty lack luster menu, skip the steak, you'd be better off ordering steak at wafflehouse.
