As I get older, I realize more and more how the small, unassuming places are the best surprises. When my wife suggested that we go have lunch at a pharmacy on Romany rd, I was confused but am always open to trying new places. The place isnt beautiful. Its somewhere between a dollar general and CVS, but the food. Wheelers is a great example of sticking to what you're good at and it shows in the simple menu consisting of what youd find at a Waffle House or Frisch's. The difference is the quality. The burger is basically perfect. Griddled buns, juicy patties, whatever you want on top. The omelet was also cooked very nicely. Seasoned fries were also crispy and fresh. The staff were friendly, hometown people that made you feel like a regular even though it was our first time. Thanks Wheelers, it was a great experience.
I am a local physician with several interactions with this pharmacy, particularly the compounding pharmacists. I was moved to write this review because of a recent experience with the compounding pharmacist, who spent hours (and I am not exaggerating I mean HOURS) looking up medical literature, calling out of state pharmacies, returning phone calls promptly to me AND the patient, in order to make a custom preparation for an unusual problem. Recommended highly and without reservation.
I started a couple of weeks ago with Wheeler apotheke for a certain recipe that is hard to fill anywhere on others. everyone was a joy to work on it and went away from helping me. I stopped on a rainy Saturday afternoon and when I went inside, I felt like I had jumped back in the time to my childhood years. the look, the smell, everything was like I remembered my hometown apothek. it was incredible. after picking up my recipe, I went through the range and held for a minute (it had already closed for the day. I stood there and stared, full emotion, thought I was again 10 years old, without worrying in the world. Some places have to grow on them before they leave like a bright review, but wheeler had me as soon as I went through the front door. thanks to all!
I love everything about this place—the warmth of the staff, its unique charm, the fantastic portion sizes for the prices, the milkshakes, and of course, the food! I typically go for breakfast, but I recently tried lunch for the first time, and I was not disappointed with the Buddy Burger and regular fries. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the Stuart Burger and the seasoned fries, which are like potato wedges. And speaking of breakfast, make sure to get the grilled cookies; you won't regret it! My last visit to Wheelers was three years ago, coinciding with a tragic event in my family, so yesterday marked my first trip back. I was reminded of how sweet Lee is—she welcomed me with the biggest hug, and it truly made my weekend.
