The bar/resto keeps funny hours which may be staff related Sunday drinks only, Monday was open only in the evening. The food offering is good but basic menu included oysters/mussels and steak all of which were good portion sizes. Staff were friendly. Food options limited in Lezardrieux this restaurant has a great outlook over the Marina/Space and the food is good.
OK, so this is a basic restaurant serving good, honest local food moules and fish soup for us and there is no reason to expect anything more than that. What we had was delicious and fine for us. However, the dining experience became four star when we engaged the waiter Alain in conversation. His mum runs the kitchen and he speaks very good English and came across as a lovely chap. Good luck with your dream Alain. It is always a good idea to have a chat with people serving you...always remember that they are human beings not faceless servants.
Bar du Yacht was a welcoming sight after a long trip to Lezardrieu and beautifully positioned overlooking the lovely river marina. We dined here on two occasions as we we were staying across the road so it was a convenient restaurant with no other nearby choices. The restaurant itself is well positioned and kept lovely and clean which are really amongst the only positives depending on ones menu choice from an extremely limited menu. The moules frites were fine and served in a choice of sauces. The fish and chips were terrible on both occasions, the cod was a half sized fillet which was clearly deep fried in far too hot fat as the batter was bordering on overcooked and sodden in fat but the flesh of the fish was clear and raw in parts however I should add that the presentation was fine with a salad garnish, sauce, lemon vinegar. The barman was miserable as was the waitress, trying to get the waitresses attention was a nightmare, she forgot our bread which was asked for twice after ordering, this eventualy arrived after our meal and then there was far too little of it for our group. The restaurant wasn't overly busy but I think that the staff would of been happier with a couple of extra pairs of helping hands. Not the best of experiences but it could be greatly improved with very little effort.
Why Madame? Why did you turn us away so rudely? Your lovely bar and restaurant were a welcome sight after a long bike ride and we were looking forward to a nice lunch from the appealing menu. Perhaps you don't like English people or you dislike cyclists or maybe you just didn't want 9 customers in your almost empty restaurant at 1230 for lunch. Whatever it was you were rude and unfriendly and we left with a poor opinion of your restaurant. Luckily it was only a few kilometres to Paimpol where we were well received.
