El Potro Mexican Cafe - Liberty

We have been to the one in Lee's Summit so we knew the food would be good. The service was also good and being brand new the place is spotless. I dinged them one star because it seems like they were having some growing pains. For example we were told they don't take reservations when we called, but we were able to make one via Google. Also the waiter didn't seem to know the drink specials and acted as if the bar was poorly stocked. In all fairness I will have to go backsoon to see if they improve with some time.

Just opened and there was a crowd for this Saturday night. They handled the crowd to perfection. A great atmosphere, service was on point and the food was hot and fresh. We will be back!

Restaurant was clean and remodeled from what it used to be. Food and prices was good but service was lacking In expectations. 1. Beer that was ordered from the menu wasn?t in stock 2. Margarita was ordered as frozen and served on the rocks. 3. 2 meals ordered with out guacamole but was served anyways with a big scoop of guacamole on top. Maybe service will improve as the newly hired help again experience at this location.

It was busy , but we were seated right away. The owner immediately delivered fresh, warm chips with delicious salsa and queso. It took a while for a server to come to our table to give us water. The margarita was delicious. The shredded beef chimichanga was good. The rancho sauce was more like a gravy. It was different, but good. The chorizo quesadillas were good, but needed a sauce. The barbacoa taco salad was good, and not as spicy as we thought it would be. Adelicious mix of ingredients. The burrito el cazador was delicious paired with the borracho beans.

Fabulous food. Friendly staff, although their level of English can lead to some confusion. They brought us the wrong order, but I was able to ask them in Spanish to take it off the bill, and they did. The salsa is amazing!! There is complimentary queso, and the guacamole is fresh and flavorful!!
