Everyone's so nice here. the whale and waffel are a favorite here. they love the waffel and contain a side of fries that came crispy and fresh. also enjoyed the avocado toast. the fried egg, speck and avocado came with perfection. we always enjoy this place, eat or run. great food and great service.
My family had dinner at this restaurant after reading some good reviews. The first impression was decent, with a nice and attentive waiter. However, there were a couple of young kitchen staff who were very loud and constantly cuddling, which was unpleasant. The food was okay, but some of the portions were lacking, especially the fries/swedes that were supposed to come with the meal. My wife ordered the buck and wad and only got a tiny handful of kale. I had the steak sandwich and there was very little steak, mostly bread and cheese. Overall, the food was okay but not great. I probably won't be returning.
This was my second visit to the restaurant, and unfortunately, I will not be returning. It's a shame because there were many menu items I wanted to try. Both visits were marred by the same server, who seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. Despite being short-staffed, we tried to be patient, but after waiting for an hour and 45 minutes without receiving our food, we decided to leave. Other tables around us, who had placed their orders much later, were served before us. It was clear that there was a lack of teamwork and communication among the front of house staff. The restaurant was not even half full throughout our visit, yet the service was incredibly slow. As someone with 20 years of experience in the industry, I know that better organization and communication are crucial, especially when short-staffed. Table sections and proper rotation of servers could have helped alleviate the issues we experienced. It's disappointing that the management did not address the obvious shortcomings in service. Overall, a poorly managed dining experience that left much to be desired.
My experiences at Fireside are usually very good. The food is usually good and a good variety to choose from. Last night was not great. It was hot because the AC wasn't working and I know that wasn't their fault but it did add to the overall experience. There were also a lot of, what appeared to be, fruit flies flying around us and our food and landing on our glassware.Also, I know quality employees are difficult to come by these days. That's evident almost everywhere I go. Usually though, there is someone capable to keep things organized and moving in the right direction. There was no one there tonight in that role. The busser was standing around behind the bar waiting to clear tables while we were waiting for ice water at our very warm table. Each phase of the service (drinks, order, refills, food and check) was slow, especially considering there were two servers and only 6-7 tables the entire time we were there. Our server kept asking us if he could reuse our glasses when he got us another glass of wine or beer because he's the one responsible for cleaning them at the end of the night. Never been asked that and thought it was weird.I will return to Fireside. It's close to our home, the atmosphere is usually good and the food is usually very good. But please, train your employees to have a sense of urgency and and to work together to give your patrons a better dining experience.
This restaurant is extremely family-friendly. The server was very attentive and polite. Their chicken and waffles are excellent. I will definitely be returning.
