The menu offered classic pub fare, but the food was of high quality and prepared excellently. The draught beers, especially the Bass, were well maintained and tasty. Our waitress and bartender took great care of us, making for a lovely evening. While we were able to find a table without a reservation, I hear it can get busy quickly so booking ahead is recommended.
Husband and wife team Alex and Natalie were spectacular in giving us an amazing dinner to remember. Congratulations!!
I had a great experience dining at this restaurant last Friday evening with a friend. The service was quick and efficient, and there was minimal wait time between courses. I started with a delicious pigeon and bacon salad, followed by a tasty pork fillet for my main course. While I didn't enjoy the chocolate, orange, and pistachio tart dessert as much due to the overpowering ginger flavor and richness, overall, the meal was very enjoyable. The food has significantly improved since the new chef took over, with refined and flavorful dishes. I would definitely dine here again, as it is reasonably priced. Overall, I would rate this meal as 'very good' rather than 'excellent' due to personal taste preferences.
I stumbled upon a fantastic rural and traditional country pub with an excellent restaurant. The food was great and very reasonably priced for the quality. I wanted to thank the chef personally, but my wife drank almost two bottles of their exceptional Rioja, so I had to leave after paying to take her home.
Booked a table in the Restaurant for a special family dinner as I was visiting the UK on holiday from Spain. The whole evening was a fantastic experience, the food, staff and ambiance was incredible. My family loved everything and they even made a special fuss over my granddaughter who had proper chicken (not nuggets I am pleased to say) and chips for her main. The lamb shank in Beer gravy was exceptional and fell off the bone, although to be fair no plates left the table with any food on them. A very memorable evening I will never forget but for all the right reasons. Just wonderful.
