Scharitzkehlalm - Ligertalm

I wanted to hike up to the Eagle's Nest but it was February and there was at least 1,5 meters of snow so I started to walk from where the bus dropped me off at the Dokumentation point. After like an hour of walking I...saw something in the middle of nothing. It turned out to be this restaurant, which was 98% covered by snow. I was sure it was closed because I couldn't see any movement due to the huge amount of snow -but man, was I wrong. Not that it was open but it was also almost full of people! It also turned out to be very local and delicious. The best thing was that even if the distance was about 800 meters but one could see the Eagle's Nest from the restaurant.

The food and service is fantastic. The place is very quaint and has tremendous old wold charm. the view of the Schritzkehl is breath taking. Well worth stopping in for lunch or dinner or even just a beer. The deserts look marvelous, however I did...not try them.

We enjoyed a lunch there and the people were really outstanding! the service was ver friendly, the food was prepared fresh and was great and it is in a typically mountain area and they told us that the hut existed already for more than 100...years but very well preserved.

Aangename bediening. Zeer goede keuken. Grote porties. Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Aanrader!
