This Pho restaurant is delicious and has affordable prices! The broth is flavorful and the portion size is generous.
Okay so I have been here maybe 4 times in the past month or month and a bit. It is true that the broth isn’t the same as the original restaurant. It lacks in the more intensely beefy and almost medicinal/herby taste of the original one, but that doesn’t mean the broth isn’t flavourful. This said, I’ve had many pho’s in downtown Montreal and never had I ever wanted to finish the broth till almost the last drop. So that must mean something. It is a little odd that there is only one size and price, but for those so concerned and complaining so much about this aspect, suck it up and buy another bowl or something. This shouldn’t be a point of fixation. Despite this, I do think that the price for the size is a little steep, considering the equivalent at other Vietnamese restaurants. Perhaps it’s a rent issue, I’m not sure, but I don’t mind it all that much. There isn’t much of a restaurant service. You order and pay at the cash and when possible, they bring your pho to you. I don’t mind it really. It’s a quiet and no fuss type of restaurant. Very very much appreciated, especially if I just want a quick lunch and watch something on my phone real quick. Basically the reason for 4/5 stars is just for the little things like the broth being slightly less flavourful and the price a little higher than one might like it. Oh and also their banh mi bread could be better, the filling and meats are good. Love the charcoal-y grilled flavour. Ps: I always order the #9 pho and am excited to go back and try their bun bo hue :
