Le Bistronome - Lille

Lovely bar/restaurant, great food and good service. A bit out of town but great if you're staying close by.

I was in Lille for 2 nights for a conference and this bistro was around the corner from my hotel. Ate here both nights, and took advantage of the 5 7pm nightly happy hour. Great food, helpful staff (polite and patient with us despite our awful attempts to speak the language). Had the burger on day 1 (cooked medium perfectly not underdone as can be the case in France) and a rump steak on day 2. Both delicious dishes delivered speedily to the table. I highly recommend the dessert board (check out my pics). As an indication of value between us, we had a bottle of wine plus two shorts, along with two steaks and two desserts. Bill came to €65. Really good value in my opinion. Merci beaucoup!

Saterdaynight, last minut visit and staying in surpricing nice B&B nearby. Pleasant interior in this so called brasserie. A cafe side and a restaurant side. Just one waitress! She did a great job. Prices from around 10€ for a daily dish. I tok a bavette with french fries and salad. Bad choice, nothing special. But with a 1/4 caraf less then 16€, next time I ll take a daily offer.
