Le Maquis - Lille

I went with my girlfriend and we ordered "paella" for only 10 euros. I don't know if it was a special plate or if they always serve it, but it was really good. We also had a wine for about 24 Euros and a table near the window where we could see the church. It was a very nice experience.

We'd been for our annual drink in the bar on the corner (with the old church pews) and needed somewhere to eat. We tried Le Maquis as it was almost next door. It was not even 9pm on a Friday night but when we entered, they had to check whether the kitchen was still open. It was, and we were seated in a not very busy restaurant. Other people were turned away at just after 9pm because the kitchen was closing. At Christmas! When people are out Christmas shopping or visiting the Christmas market (that shuts at 9pm)!The venue itself was nice and the service was good. The menu choices were good but those of us who ordered the duck were left a little disappointed that it was over-cooked. Unfortunately, Le Maquis will probably not make it onto our list of places to return to when in Lille.

We been there yesterday with 4 persons. Steak 15€, and goat cheese 13€. Ricard 3 and Chti triple 4,5€. Plate of different salami free. Good and friendly and fast service, clean toilet, lovely little restaurant with heated terras
