When we ordered from the QR code on the table, we could only use a creditcard to check out. You have to pre pay food at this restaurant, so without a creditcard you have to wait in line for ordering. I stood in line behind people waiting for take away, and the price was more expensive then ordering through QR code. After ordering it took the staff 40 minutes to give us our drinks. We even got our starter food before our drinks. And we barely had the last bite of our starter food in our mouth. And the main course was already there. I had a burger, which tasted kind off mediocre. I had better burgers at cheaper places. Vegetarian or vegan choices are rare. While meat choices are over represented. My friend had a pasta, which made him felt like the parmarigano cheese was out of stock. And the garlic bread felt old and stale. I will skip this place next time. Expected more when i saw how fancy the place was.
I stopped in Lillehammer and someone told me that this was a place I could go eat, next to the river, and have a relaxed meal. I checked the online menu and was immediately drawn to the image for the cod fish, which looked amazing and huge. This is what I ordered as soon as I got there, and when it came, it did not disappoint because it looked just as big as the menu. The fish was thick, from the North Pole, and it was bursting with garlic butter taste, you have fresh veggies, some potatoes and they throw some crunchy bacon in for good measure. That extra butter was so rich, it was definitely one of the better cod meals I've had in a while. The service was very quick, attentive and they did a great job for my experience.
We had a group dinner that was served on the deck outside the restaurant. The food was good. Egon is a chain restaurant, with mostly standardized menus.
The location is great, especially in the outdoor restaurant where you sit next to the creek with some waterfalls. Food is average, and I’d expected better.
