A very green and natural restaurant. They were from hummus (or late as they said at 1:30 a.m. for lunch! and no chewing. It shouldn't happen because their menu isn't that big. Very good chicken curry and desserts.
This is another way to have lunch or dinner where the food is mixed with an original decoration: butterflies fly over the building. The food is good, some original dishes such as the Quinoa Causas or the drinks. If you like a good salad, this is a good option. However, I believe that food could be better and is a little bigger.
It is an incredible restaurant where a cultural center works and has a butterfly collection as the main attraction. It is a modern and beautifully decorated environment. The kitchen is also very good and the bar has incredible drinks. It is a good place to go with children because it has some toys and the contact with the butterflies by itself is already a great attraction.
The food is fresh and delicious. Good selection of drinks. Beautiful roof terrace setting. When you go the day, you can visit the butterfly house that is a unique experience. On Thursday evening there is a dance acrobatics show that is short, but it is worth it. The service is very slow.
I travel around the world mostly for tourism since I retire 4 years ago. Visiting Lima I was walking by and could not help looking at the big screen tv advertising the Thursday acrobatic night show. A most unique and fascinating theme restaurant that proudly introduces a great display of live Peruvian butterflies, combine with an acrobatic Cirque do Soleil type show. What a nice experience this could be I thought to my self as I went in. It all change when I order a simple sandwich that was nor served the way the server agree to do. When I complain she offer potato chips as a solution. Would not take the sandwich back and correct the mistake, and ignored me the rest of the time. Disappointed I requested to speak with the manager and explain to him the situation and politely requested another sandwich. Shredded chicken with only very little mayo, the one before had tomatoes, lettuce and was drench in mayo. The manager said, sir, your meal has been served as per your request and that is the best we can do With him repeating the same line several times as I was trying to make him understand it wasn 't what I had order, is that I realized how scripted his response was and that I was stuck paying for their mistake. I 'm also fluent in Spanish so, it was not a communication problem I was having. Maybe is a business/cultural thing not to be sensitive or show empathy, respect to a client at Barra Verde. These, couple with the cavalier attitude displayed by the manager, I imagine is not the kind of image the owner of the restaurant wants to project. Pity, how a nice experience can be ruined over a $7.00 chicken sandwich and a couple of beers. Lima is a very international cuisine destination and there are plenty of restaurants committed to excellence in customer care as found in other countries. I do recommend Barra Verde for the show and live butterflies display but, beware the client may not be always right there.
