This pizza in my humble opinion reminded me of sitting on my couch at 2am in college after drinking 20 beers and popping in a Tombstone pizza. It's possible the Tombstone might have been better! Uninspired cardboard garbage! The plus side, bartender/server was very nice and attentive.
If you are looking for a heartier pizza with balanced flavors, Fat Jack's is for you. The toppings blend nicely, the crust is perfectly crisp yet not too crunchy, and the staff eager to please. We have eaten here numerous times over the years, and have never been disappointed.
This is the worst pizza I have ever gotten from here. I got a 14 ' ' pizza with mushroom, bacon, onion, pepperoni and extra cheese. The bottom of my pizza was soggy. The bacon was in chunks. I made sure I wasn 't late getting it(matter a fact I was early, it wasn 't even in the window yet). Makes you wonder what it would be like if I was late. I paid $20, for a pizza like that! So disappointed, I hope they can get there act together. Fat Jack use to be the best pizza in town! Go at your own risk!
Fat Jack 's pizza is pretty good for Lima pizza.... I recognize the style from growing up in Lima. It 's a thin but not crispy-thin crust with a very thin spread of tomato sauce, then a very thick layer of cheese and a sprinkling of whatever toppings you order. The cheese is very good, but if you want veggie or meat toppings you need to order double if you want more than a sprinkling of mushrooms, olives or whatever. I 've always considered Fat Jack 's to be the best of this style of pizza. This Fat Jack 's location has a nice dining room with large tvs that are easily visible from any table. While visiting my parents yesterday, we decided to go to Fat Jack 's for lunch, mainly because my mom wanted to watch the Indians game and my dad and I wanted to watch the Indycar race which were on at the same time, and my parents only have one tv. The pizza, as always, was hot, fresh and very good. However, our salads looked and tasted like they had been poured straight out of a bag. It was a bowlful of iceberg lettuce with about 3 little shreds of carrot and no other veggies, then a few little dry, tasteless croutons on top. My mom had ordered a large salad but was served a small, and the server apologized but didn 't offer to replace it with the large that she had ordered. I had asked for southwest ranch dressing but was served thousand island, which she did offer to replace when I called it to her attention. Bleh. We will stick to the pizza next time. The server was either new or not having a good day. We heard her apologize to at least one person at every table for some mistake, and she made a few trips back to the kitchen to correct orders. Service was a little slow, considering it was the middle of the afternoon and it wasn 't very busy. Good thing we had sports to watch to take our mind off the service.
Sometimes, this is the best pizza you'll find across the states. Other times, it appears to be made by a toddler. How is one piece normal size, and the one beside it an 8x10?! Or, ask me how much I love to have my toppings in one heaping pile in just one area of my pizza. You might even get lucky and get a pizza about 5 minutes before it should be pulled out of the oven. Why do I keep coming back here? Because, in all of the states that I have been, and all of the pizza that I've had, SOMETIMES this place has the best pizza of all. I just wish they could get some consistency.
