Had a steak. Asked for medium rare but got medium to well done. Not a great range on the menu just the average pub food you'll find everywhere.
Don't get me wrong, the food was alright. But it wasn't great and parts of it were tired. I had the salmon which was way overcooked and dry. Service was good and cheerful. I have used this restaurant on and off for the past ten...years and it has never been anything but average. However, the money they are charging does not justify the average food they are serving. Prices here are akin to Dublin prices. There is a lot of competition in Limerick and if McLoughlins does not improve people will vote with their feet.
Very noisy due to many baptisms. Food just average but staff very helpful. A Pity the menu never changes.
During my stay, I dined at the restaurant for breakfast every day and for dinner on one or two occasions. The breakfasts were typically British, with the addition of fruit plates for a healthy option. The evening meals offered more variety and were well-cooked. However, if you're short on time and expect quick service, be prepared for disappointment. The wait staff was slow and somewhat abrupt, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
