I visited this place and was extremely disappointed. Came here with my family and the waitress we had serving us would return smelling like she smoked a whole pack of cigarettes every time she returned back to my table. The food was horrible and I just simply wouldn’t return. There’s definitely other restaurants in the area that don’t disappoint. I notice the owner/management of this establishment leaving distasteful replies to reviews regarding this restaurant before leaving this review. I pray he or she puts that same effort into improving this establishment.

When I order food at a restaurant I generally look at the ingredients and choose accordingly based on my likes or dislikes. When the dish is presented to me by my server I expect the dish to accurately represent what was displayed on the menu. For the most part that was accurately done with exception of one ingredient I was not expecting which will cause me not to return to III Amici ever again. That extra ingredient was tobacco from a patron not even eating on the outdoor porch. I, as a customer should not have to get into a confrontation with another customer based on a restaurant's inadequate rules. The menu should have clearly stated that my seafood salad and my mushroom pasta dish would have had the putrid stench of cigar tobacco in my meal. That was not disclosed on the menu as an ingredient I would be ingesting as I begrudingly ingested with each and every bite. This won't be happening again since cigarettes, cigars and other smoke products are something I do not enjoy ingesting while having my meal. But hey thats just me. If you don't mind ingesting tobacco with your meal than III Amicis restaurant is the restaurant for you.
The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with that very vintage chic 60’s Italian feel. What gives this place a tough score is the service cuisine. The portions aren’t generous for the price tag also being an Italian restaurant (known for its over feeding). In addition, the staff looked exhausted- making casual mistakes during service despite we were the only table of three in the building. Perhaps Sunday shouldn’t be open to provide staff the rest they need but I was shocked that I was forced a gratuity despite the service being poor. This restaurant has potential to being a NJ powerhouse in the culinary world but it needs to go back to basics!
