Upon arrival, no one would seat us at a table as there was a queue of families waiting. The staff were all gathered at the bar chatting, even holding a team huddle at 7:30 on a Friday evening. Later, a group of kids came in and were served water three times before anyone noticed paying customers were wanting to order. Despite one couple getting up to speak with the bar staff, no one came to take our orders. Eventually, everyone gave up, with one family even leaving without ordering food. The quality of the food was terrible and we didn't even have a chance to order dessert as no one came to our table. This was the first time I have experienced such poor service at a pub, with guests talking about the inadequate service and staff seeming indifferent. It is best to avoid this place altogether.
The quality of the food at this restaurant has significantly declined and the prices are very high. I would recommend avoiding the Nduja Chicken with tomato, as the potatoes were undercooked and lacked garlic, and the chicken was served cold. The fish pie was also disappointing, as it contained little fish and was cold and dry. The steak pie seemed like a store-bought microwave meal, served atop wilted vegetables and also arrived cold. Overall, I used to praise this restaurant but after this experience, I will not be returning.
The pub has a stunning view and can get quite crowded. The food is delicious and portions are generous, but it can be on the expensive side. The interior of the pub is charming and the restrooms are always clean. Although I didn't stay at the hotel, it seems like it would be a picturesque place to stay.
Lovely location for drink and a natter. Very nice pie. Not welcomed with a smile. Do book an outside table by the water, or you won 't get one. Request for extra gravy could have been met with Absolutely, I won 't be long but wasn 't and didn 't arrive. 10% service included alongside space for a tip. Premium prices demand premium, friendly service... Nice place to sit and chill with a drink after a walk...
The view is stunning. Sadly, that's where the experience stops. I'll give them the fact that it was a little bit busy, not too much for the amount of staff they had working. So the food coming out cold and the coffee's coming out after the food was disappointing, to say the least. We had to either collect our own condiments or ask for them to be brought to the table. There were other customers mine sweeping tables to get salt and pepper, unacceptable. Gutted actually because it is a truly beautiful place to sit for an afternoon.
