Cantinho Do Sol - Lisboa

We just happened upon this charming place while walking near our hotel. It was a wonderful find! All of us had seafood: grilled octopus, clams with garlic, and fried little whole fish resembling smelts (sorry, I don't read Portuguese so I can id our exact entrees on the menu). We had 2 bottles of Douro wine and dessert and the final bill was less than 25 euros each. Cantinho do Sol was better than any of the restaurants suggested by our tour guide. Our waiter, Lama, was very attentive and friendly, and the chef came out to say hi. I come from a fishing family on the coast of New England and can attest to the absolute freshness of all the seafood. IMO this was the best dining experience we had while visiting the area (Lisbon, Coimbra, Nazare, Porto and towns in between). My friends and I highly recommend Cantinho do Sol!

Tiny local family owned joint. Food was great (had the octopus), friendly and fast service. Definitely going back to try other dishes.

Une bonne adresse pour déguster les spécialités du Portugal dans le quartier “Marques se Pombal”. Le bacalhau est parfaitement cuisiné. Le midi, l’endroit est parfait pour se restaurer dans une ambiance conviviale tandis que le soir l’ambiance restaurant prend le dessus, le tout à prix tout à fait raisonnable et toujours avec le sourire !
