We had a wonderful experience in this place. Food is great and the price is very reasonable. Definitely will come back for our next visit. Highly recommended for people who want to try local food.
Great little place just a couole minutes from my hotel. The service was good even though every seat was taken. It was very clean inside on a Tuesday about 12:30pm. There are 3-4tables outside and about a dozen inside. Lots of locals having their lunch here. 1 long table inside had a reserved sign where men in work clothes came and sat down for a quick meal. I had sea bass with potatoes and salad and a mineral water. Fish was grilled and moist and the potatoes were perfect. Salad was very fresh. This place stays busy into the night. I know because I can see the restaurant from my hotel balcony. I'll be back here for dinner tonight.
My elderly mother and I were looking for a mid range restaurant near our hotel and this place did the trick. We paid 32 Euros for bread, two main courses and a half bottle of good Dao.The menu has photos and translations. I had a plain, good pork chop with chips. Ma had grilled swordfish (or something similar) with salad and boiled potatoes. I tried it and it was perfect. The owners were modest and unpushy.Rude? Not to us. But it would be fair to say they did not fawn over us. The ambience is what in Paris you might call a zinc ie a working class bar with tables for eating or drinking, with paper table cloths. We got there around 7.15pm and were alone for a while but others started to arrive shortly before 8pm and the clientele were locals. I am surprised by some of the scathing reviews this likeable little place has had. We would happily return.
We went there thinking we could get a cheap/normal priced meal. The Food was ok, the fish was nice but the potatoes were off so I end up eating half of my plate. At the end, they charged a 13€ extra fee, and when we complained about it, they were rude to us and didn’t explain why they charged it, they started mumbling and pushing the credit card machine to us. They couldn’t even use the I don’t speak English card because we were speaking Portuguese the whole time. Made me really angry!
