I ordered the recommendations. a fish soup 10/10. and a grilled durado 9/10 (my only complained that the sides were not as delicious as the fish itself.) since I was the last there, I was often paid a visit, and finally the server and the chef came by to chat with me, the traveling. we're talking about travel stories. I had a wonderful meal and a great example for the wonderful Portuguese hospitality.
A small place in front of the insaneness of the tourist roads. they have a very nice selection of meat (chicken, lamb, duck, steaks) and also very fresh fish. Started with the recommended fish soup that was definitiw very tasty; then I got a nice grilled stream, and my wife was the lamb that was really tender. my daughter has that huh, as dessert, they try the chocolate mouse. besides the great and fresh food, the waiter (probably owner) was really friendly and strong. we would definitely come back!
This is a little unassuming place on a side street. It was not too far from our hotel. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. The cook comes out to meet you. We had the roasted pork and grilled salmon. Each dish came with potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and beans. You are presented with cheese, bread and olives prior to your meal. If you don't want it, you can just say so but it is only 2 or 3 euro. Between us, we had 4 beers and 2 after-dinner drinks and the total was 55 euro. Probably the best meal we had in Lisbon and very reasonable. We will definitely return.
Waiter is very friendly, he recommended chicken soup for starter and then we had bream fish which was also fresh and delicious.
A short walk off the Liberdade from the Restauradores metro stop, we came upon Maria Mil Reis by accident in January when we spent a week in Lisbon. It was the best meal we had all week. Evandro was a wonderful host, the ambience was cozy and a little quirky, which we loved, and each thing we tried was delicious. We talked about this place for a month as we traveled through Portugal and Spain. The fish soup was terrific, as were our main courses, but the passion fruit mousse which we shared after such a substantial meal was beyond words. As luck would have it, we had to travel from Porto to Lisbon for one night to meet family at the airport. We knew exactly where we would go for dinner. Again, the service was excellent and the food was even better than we remembered. I ordered the rabbit, which was delicious. My husband had so enjoyed the pork chops last time that he ordered them again. They were just as good as before. This time, we did NOT share the passion fruit mousse. I love him, but after 40 years, lines have to be drawn and I got my own mousse. This place is a gem!
