This restaurant normally just opens for lunch but we stuck lucky and they had a special evening on. The set starter included squid, rustic breads and cod croquettes. We had a delicious goat dish cooked in a red wine sauce and served with mixed veg, rice and chips (new potatoes was an option . Also on the menu was beef, octopus, rabbit and a vegetarian dish. Washed down with a reasonably priced Duoro red. Deserts were very acceptable and we chose chocolate mousse and lemon tarte. The bonus for us that there was a fada later. Our take home message of the evening was that you never know what you might find down a side street and don’t be afraid to investigate a restaurant you might be in for a brilliant experience. Points to bear in mind cash or pay by phone only and you are in for truly authentic Portuguese fare.

This hidden restaurant is a precious gem standing apart from the touristic traps of the city center. It has a great atmosphere, super friendly staff and authentic Portuguese food with influences from Goa, Brazil, Angola and Mozambique. Open on weekdays for lunch this place only opens at night on Fridays so be sure to book beforehand. I always go there when in Lisbon.

Really friendly owners who seemed to be friends with everyone who walked by and were very welcoming and helpful .Good food, not expensive and the atmosphere on Fridays is authentic.
