The food seemed a bit preprpared, served right from the fridge. For main we had beef, ordered medium/rare- but it was overcooked. The bernaise sauce had to much acid, but the roquefortsauce was nice. The best part of the meal was the cheeses for dessert, they were delicious. The highlight of the visit was however the charming staff who no doubt could have needed more hands. People were waiting in the restaurant, the bar and the reception, and they were not enough staff to serve everybody. I especially admire the patiens with the old impatient Englishman how kept ordering double whiskeys.
Whilst stayingt at this hotel we not only had breakfast but a wonderful dinner. The food was superb and the service of a high standard.
Stopover on way home from a holiday in the Dordogne. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel. We were seated promptly but it did take 15 mins before we had our order taken however the waiter was very polite and helpful. My kids ate the kids menu, buffet starter, chicken nuggets and frites followed by buffet dessert and they had water included too, I think this was 12 Euros each and was great value. My husband had plat du jour which had two choices for each course and he was happy and I had the buffet which was buffet starter, plat du jour main course and buffet dessert. There was a really good choice on the buffet for both starter and dessert. The buffet for the starter included saucission, chorizo, pickles, cheeses, hams, salads, rice salads, seafood, fish and dressings. For dessert there were choc mousse, rhubarb mousse (delicious), various tarts, rice pudding (again delicious said my son, 8) chocolate cake. For the main course of Plat du Jour it was Steak frites which were cooked perfectly. We had a bottle of Rose with our dinner 25 euros. All in all a really good dinner. For Breakfast you are greeted and seated and they bring you your first hot drink and it is a help yourself buffet so you can choose from yoghurts, breads, croissants, pain au chocolat, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, different meats and I've probably forgotten something! lots of hot drinks, juices, milk, water etc. Really very good.
The good may have been nice but despite my best efforts to communicate with the server, we were left sitting for 20 minutes, had a buffet salad instead and left hungry!
My wife and my daughter took a atrtare with prawns and tomatoes, and a duck confit and a sea bass. All was excellent, maybe the fish a little too much cook for us. Wine by the glass are available. For those who could prefer, a very nice buffet is also proposed. Excellent service also. Such a restaurant is quite unusual in an hotel.
