Happy we did. The tasting was limited to a rye and a bourbon but they were both smooth and very good. Ended up buying a bottle of each. The owner, Phil French, entertained us for close to an hour with stories of his prior career, connections with celebrities, fishing and his family. Fun experience in a small, upstate NY town! Stop in if you're ever passing through the area.
We arrived at 8h30pm and Phil was still waiting for us. He got his whiskeys out for the tasting even if it was closed.Phil is a very nice ? guy and he talk about the history of his ancestors and showed us the book that John French wrote. We always loved earing stories about ancestors and how they started their lives in North America.Phil is a wonderful host and we really appreciated his hospitality last night friday 27 may 2022.
Saw the sign while driving back home to Philly and stopped. Enjoyed an outdoor tasting and hearing about the distillery. Great local stop- picked up a bottle of bourbon and rye to enjoy at home.
Great tasting whiskey. Phil was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Great place to stop.
Stopped by for an outdoor tasting of French's young and aged whiskeys and bourbons. Interesting to see how the liquors evolve by comparative tasting. Lilah's lightning has a kick!
