Beautiful, local facilities for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Especially breakfast and lunchtime with Scandinavian spin. As a bakery there are many candy temptations complete with an assortment of free samples. Lunch consists primarily of sandwiches, wraps, salads and soups. On the menu there is a pot roast and hamburger. I had the Danish salmon sandwich, which is served with open face and is best eaten with fork and knife. You can also buy bread and rolls to go. You order at the counter and the food will be brought to your table. Delicious food and friendly service.
Solid Bakery. I can only talk to the Bakery aspect of the taste of Scandinavia, and it is really good. I thought the cookies were delicious, and they offered a number of unique varieties. I also got a foliage of the Dutch Crunch bread that was amazing as cut, roasted and used for BLTs.
Best bakery in the Twin Cities! The taste of Scandanavia is the best bakery in the Twin Cities. I was an enthusiastic customer in the last five years and never had a bad experience. They offer phenomenal foods at reasonable prices. Your Monkey Bites Muffins and Chocolate Crinkles Cookies are amazing! You also have a wide selection of din-in or take-out breakfast / lunch / dinner options. The Dannish Salmon Sandwich and Norwegian Chicken Lefse Melt are my favorites. If you are looking for delicious baked goods, or a place to pack a fast (still delicious) food, taste of Scandinavia is to go the place!
I ordered the Open Face Swedish Roast Pepper Chicken Sandwich. That is a mouthful to say and certainly more than a mouthful to eat. As the name implies, this was a sandwich that was served open-faced atop two slices of tomato basil bread. Diced grilled chicken, red onions, spinach, lightly sauteed mushrooms, and shredded asiago cheese. I thought this sandwich was pretty good; all of the flavors blended nicely but the asiago cheese with the roasted peppers are what really stand out. The stronger flavor of the cheese makes up for the milder tastes of the chicken, spinach and mushrooms.
