My father was Italian, so I grew up with authentic Italian dishes prepared by my Nonna and Nonno. The Fagioli, basicly a side dish of green beans with a garlic butter dressing and toasted walnuts, transported me back 40 years to my childhood. Seriously, it's that good. But that wasn't even the best part. No, the best part of my experience, because it wasn't just eating, was the Anatra. It's actually a 2 part dish of smoked duck breast and a confit duck leg with quince jus. If I remember what I was told correctly, the Sous Chef spent 14 weeks perfecting the jus, which is a reduced wine dressing served separately that you drizzle over the duck as you go. It was like heaven on the tongue, and nearly melted in my mouth. Robbie, the Maitrè de, advised the perfect wines to accompany it. I'll be going back, and taking friends!
Great food, great drinks menu and service was 2nd to none.. Loved it.. the Tuesday $10 pasta menu goes well.
Awful. Previously the food and service was very good. Extremely disappointed with both the food and service at Via Italia today, I shall not bother going back again.
Nice setting. Ordered a peroni beer $9.50 and an alcohol ginger beer which was $10 for a pot. Slightly pricey. Had to wait 25 mins for an entree Calamari. Wasn't busy so not sure why it would take so long. Overall ok and close to hotel but be aware of prices. There is better around.
