Ramen is well seasoned and noodle has good strength. Price is reasonable (for NYC) given the share. The waitress is attentive and minor errors (from the kitchen) are quickly corrected.
I stopped by for a quick solo meal and was pleasantly surprised by the traditional Japanese decor. The Spicy Roe Omelet was fluffy and flavorful, while the potato fried shrimp also had a nice kick to it. I'm so glad I decided to come here tonight!
(2018/04/25) **A Reasonable Option for Ramen in the States** I recently tried some ramen here, and while it wasn't particularly impressive, I think it could be considered decent while in the U.S. Unfortunately, it wouldn't hold up in Japan. Still, this type of restaurant is always worth a visit when you're abroad, no matter where you are. Wishing them the best of luck in their business!
I came here in December with my sister. It was my first time to come here, although I lived here for 20 years. It is a tad hard to notice from the street, and it looks small from outside, but it is actually much larger inside and has a warm atmosphere. It was nice to be greeted by the sushi balls at the entrance. It was not crowded at all (maybe because of the holidays?) and I asked myself to sit in what I refer to as a can with the classic hanging cloth to separate it from the hall. Of us were private dining rooms tatami rooms that are probably reserved for more formal occasions (they have slippers on the way available. The waiting staff was very polite and actually reacted to me in Japanese, which is a plus. This restaurant has not many beef dishes (to my sister disappointment, but the tea is very good (I am picky with teas and I had a delicious Katsudon (that my sister also found delicious). They break for lunch, so plan accordingly. Anyway, I want to come back in March to eat with my sister for my birthday. Thanks for the pleasant culinary experience!
This is one of the best places to enjoy authentic ramen in Long Island. The portion sizes are quite generous, especially for those of us who have larger appetites. I do wish they offered a smaller size option, as I would love to sample more dishes from the menu.
