Terrible! Order called in change its price by a huge amount of money from $30 to 80 I do not recommend them on any level they were rude and obnoxious
After a few years returned to dinner. as well as always. friendly, good service, excellent food. we need to be one when we travel to little river/North myrtlebeach.
Never experienced such and unwelcoming and clicky vibe. Boston Mark from behind the bar is so obnoxious and opinionated. Throws bottles loudly, handles the mid-shift weeds like the inefficient dinosaur he is and talks about fellow workers and the patrons loudly, as if runs the joint and is working in a déclassé dive bar. First time at Chianti South, several years ago, we had the exact opposite experience. Rachel was our server. I've been a bartender and server my whole life. I found her to be the classiest and best server I ever had. The food was excellent that night. The wine list, extensive. The vibe was lovely and charming. Must have been off season then, but we returned more recently to have dinner and find the NY Strip to be tough, and fresh caught fish overcooked and service to be stale. Okay, give them another chance because we really wanted to like this place; the menu is delightful. Boston Mark left us feeling baffled. Never got salads that came with the meal. Never even had a chance to ask for them. Was greeted with an attitude and disgust that he'd have us dining with him and only warmed up ever so briefly after we ordered an okay bottle of wine. The few times he came to the table, he either came yelling at us with really no chance to speak or ask for something or just silent, sullen, and showing his stress across his face with boisterous movement and total LACK OF finesse or refinement, which we once thought Chianti South was about. We heard him talking (yelling) down to the servers, once in a swearing and screaming match about how he's right and it's his way or the highway. This is all in the tight bar space. No bearing on how obnoxiously he communicates and ruins what should be a decently finer dining experience. We waited huge periods of time for him to ignore us and watched him demonstrate a slightly more phony and careful level of service to his regulars. After taking this all in, we found such lack of professionalism and warmth on his part. We were just ready for the bill. This is the biggest kicker... wait for it. He took $10 of change due to me, on top of what I thought was an okay tip 50) for his lousy service. And the coin change, which is sometimes an old school behavior you'll see these old dinosaurs in the business do. I was honestly too shocked and over it to even bother with what could have been a scene at that point, knowing his unpleasant and combative attitude we had witnessed for the duration of our dining experience. Totally turned off by this experience. Sorry for his coworkers who have to work with him. I've heard bartenders just like this guy before... oh, my regulars love me... no they're stuck with you because your bar area is small and they have no choice. And maybe they enjoy the clickiness you play up as if they're apart of some sort of elite dining club, where all outsiders must cower to your over-the-top, aggressive personality. Ditch Boston Mark. He's not a good look. Won't be returning. It's a shame.
