My sister-in-law is a patient there and her care has been subpar. Her doctors are not listening to her and her nurse seems to be worn thin from running around from one patient to the next. There seems to be no urgency in attending her needs, or at least not as much as it should be. I’ve never seen and ICU like this. While we were visiting, she had an accident. It took almost an hour and a half for the nurse to finally come in and clean her and change her sheets. No one deserves to be treated like this. I believe it’s because she is a black woman that she’s being treated this way.
The kitchen ladies that run the grill and the bar are akways sweet, but the one that runs the sushi bar need to reconsider her occupation... she is feeding nurses who have jobs that handle peoples lives and are under a lot of stress while she has the audacity to apply mental anguish to nurses for her own selfish and disgusting fun . Something will be done VERY shortly as my wife is pregnant and has had her last straw with her... See you guys soon to make a complaint, report or whatever we have to do to adjust the little girl in the cafeterias attitude. I will gladly give this a 5 star review after the situation is handled in person and something is done about it such as a formal apology by the girl with a selfish and lazy attitude... And shame on the other workers who also yelled at her... Some overgrown children that person was... Accountability goes a long way with such a well known corporation such as Baptist... I guess we will see how it goes and a further review will be made according to how the situation is handled.
The absolute worse experience of my life, with the cafeteria taking over a day of a 2 and half stay to get my food allergies correct to a doctor not knowing how to check ears as he wasn't ent but he was a general doctor so should know how to look for ear infections. One doctor didn't know what the other was doing. Now some nurses were good and a couple of the food people were kind, but the rest.....I had to suffer from severe pain bc the doctor wouldn't come into my room until almost 9 at night. I woke up at 1 am that day with the pain.I have had 2 horrible experiences with hospitals and they both were this hospital 7 years apart. You would think it would change for the better after 7 years but it actually got worse.
Is it simply the state of healthcare in a post-covid world, or is there something particularly wrong at Baptist Health? There are many very good providers of all descriptions at Baptist, and I give kudos especially to those in the ER despite sitting there recently for nine hours with my 87 year old dad who was severely dehydrated. However, my dad has been to the ER five times this year and was admitted four times, basically for the same thing. He got a UTI originally and went to a rehab facility recommended by Baptist where he promptly got another UTI (or the one he had wasn't properly treated the first time.)After being given strong antibiotics for the UTI, he was pronounced cured. He went home and shortly got severely dehydrated from diarrhea most likely caused by the drugs. Recently, he was back again.During both of his recent stays, the hospitalists said they would find the root cause. They did not. When his vitals all looked good, they released him. Both of these doctors told us that older people with dementia just get stuff and we should just be preparing for the eventual end of life. One of them said he saw no reason for my dad to see a urologist, although he has **** urine and pain when he pees. But they pronounced him well enough to go home and free up a bed. Today, he has **** urine again.I don't know what has happened to healthcare in this country. I only know that our hospitals are failing us and I don't want to get old.
1 star was for the txting updates that I got while my husband was in surgery for a mass on his kidney!!! After that I wouldn’t have enough space or want to take the time to explain the pathetic experience we had. We always put Baptist high on a list of hospitals. I could have went to a charity hospital and got better care!! When he was put in recovery I never heard another word. After a good while I went to find out he went to a room on the 6th floor! Walked in and he had already eat and been wondering where I was!! REALLY!! Needless to say things kept going downhill from there. Rude nurse. Stayed in a **** gown til we left! No shower! No washcloths, towels. Rain came in the windows! Not the end but I’ll stop here. Thank God we were only there 1 night.
