My wife had the chicken sandwich which was somewhat dry, but still tasty. The venue itself set alongside the river, is spectacular and there are various seating options (pet non pet areas) The whole place is so well done layed out, as in sprawling but in a very tasteful way. If you are outside, everything is ordered via code download delivered to your table. I believe they have table service inside. We had several of the beer offerings which were all 5 stars. They do offer retail to go, which I've included a picture of my favorite, which I enjoyed immensely at home: Ponyhawk:, which is their smooth hoppy IIPA, but with a slightly sweet overtone, just delicious! Will definitely be returningParking: While there is a free parking lot across bridge, this place fills up quickly metered street parking is also an option.
One of our favorite places in all of New Hampshire! My wife is a travel nurse and we love this area. We’ve come back two summers now and always stop at Schilling after a big hike. They make excellent European-inspired beers, and food. There’s such a wide range, and their taps are always rotating. (They do have several core beers along with seasonals. Even if you come often, there’s always something new. Their pizza is great, and with the recent addition of the Mill St. Kitchen, they have even more food options. Do yourself a favor, sit on patio, order their pretzel (Pro tip, get all three sauces and enjoy a delicious beer, while taking in views of the Ammonoosuc.
Schilling Beer Co. is a craft beer haven.Their brews boast a diverse range of flavors, satisfying every palate. Cozy atmosphere.Dog friendly! The negative:Asking for 18% gratuity for service that lacks basic elements like bussing tables and filling water seems unreasonable. Pairing this with a $16 sandwich and BOH gratuity makes for an incongruous dining experience.
Buy. Those. Fries. Simply some of the best food that you will have in New Hampshire, and the beer is pretty good, too ? As a self-professed pizza snob, I felt pretty inadequate after eating here. The pies are cooked to perfection, the dough and toppings are sublime. But beyond that, you must absolutely taste the chips/fries in the canteen adjacent. They are absolutely sublime. I am the kind of guy who stops at every chip truck so I can have a taste, and these are the best I have had in a decade. Perfection! Marvelous view, beautiful town. Make sure you stop.
This would be a 5* experience if it weren't for the awkward host. He asks you what your seating preference is and becomes extremely awkward if you want to enjoy the patio on the water. Complicating a really simple procedure, then asks what you plan to consume alcohol or food. Anyway, I guess we said the wrong things because we ended up without a view of the water. It's just a very weird vibe. Anyway, the food and beer are excellent and our waitress, Jennifer was very nice and helpful.
