It was a little strange location (on the right side of the grocery store) and the shield is not huge that there is a Mexican restaurant (one on the street would help their business, I am sure), but we parked and there was an attempt. Looks a bit like a strip-mall with a scrub in the end. By the way, the grocery store was great! Great products the bakery products we got were also delicious! Flan was from this world! Anyway, the restaurant was very tidy and well designed. Many rooms between tables beautiful decor. Clean. Our waitress was timely and friendly. We started with the chips and salsa while we decided on dinner. There were some of the best we had and we eat a lot of Mexican food! My husband even ate it (and seconds) and he usually likes the chips salsa enough to interfere with the food. The chips were made house and crisp and the salsa was really tasteful with just a little kick. I decided to try the Combo #1. Partner got Steak Tacos. Both were really delicious, tasteful and fresh! The Chilles Rellenos were on site. Not sure how they fix their fried beans, but they were really good. Leave them and rice for the last time I even eat them. Can't give this place enough praise. It was amazing. I wish we could stay closer so that we can come back many, many more times before we return home. You will not regret taking the time to check this place. RECOMMENDATIONS!
For a genuine authentic Mexican food, you need to try this place!! The fresh tortillas were so good! The salsa was perfect, not too much cilanto (or as I like to call it.. The chicken and the barbacoa were very well seasoned, all vegetables were fresh! The staff was friendly from the service was fast. They also had a nice selection of drinks including horchata, a personal fav! The decor is nothing imagination and its is in a Mexican grocery store. Take a look at the shop as well, we found some delicious treats home, like fresh tortillas, flan and some other interesting finds! It takes a few minites to get from 1-10, but it was worth the ride when you go through. We will visit this regularly.
This is my favorite business with Live Oak. This place does not have so many possibilities, but it has everything you need, including a meat counter. I often find the meat for every food I make this night at a better price than I do in Publix, Save-A-Lot or Winn-Dixie. The employees are always beautiful and it is the only place I know in Live Oak that I can find tamarind and the right kind of cheese for my kitchen.
I have lived in Florida for over 25 years, I have tried a lot of food and I can honestly and wholeheartedly say, this food is the best I have had. I had the whole fried tilapia. The fish is so well seasoned and cooked, it 's crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The sauce they used was amazing, it was a fried garlic 'mojo ' that was so good, I had to order an extra side. I have never had such a good fried fish, it was absolute perfection! I highly recommend anyone who likes fish to try it.
Great food and restoration. French frits are freshly cut and properly salted. Barbacoa Burrito was on site. It'll be a cool place to eat again.
