I don't even know where to begin with this review! We had booked a pre-theatre meal at this Bistro before a show tonight. The reservation was for 6pm for three people, assuming that would be plenty of time before the show. How wrong we were! We arrived at 5.50pm and after about 10 minutes, someone finally came to take our order. Unfortunately, the wait only got longer from there. The starters eventually arrived and were decent, but things quickly went downhill. After waiting for 25 minutes, my husband spoke to the waitress about the long wait and she said our main meals were being prepared and would be out soon. However, we continued to wait for 20 more minutes. By 7pm, my sister had to speak to the waitress again as we were worried about missing the beginning of the show at 7.30. Despite asking for the manager to come speak with us, no one appeared. Eventually, my sister had to go to the Box Office herself to request the manager's presence. She also inquired about ordering dessert early, but was told it would be served during the intermission of the show. She declined. When the manager finally arrived, we informed him that we and other diners were waiting for our meals. It was revealed that the kitchen was short staffed. The manager instructed the staff to expedite our meals and offered to refund the cost of our meals. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. My husband and sister ordered burgers that were average at best, while I ordered pasta with pesto which was terribly disappointing. The dish arrived in a small container and looked like a sloppy mess of pasta, spinach, tomatoes, and green water. It was completely inedible, so all I had to eat was two slices of overdone garlic bread. We barely had 5 minutes to finish our meals before rushing off to the show. Overall, it was a truly awful experience.
I bought tickets to a show at the Empire as a Christmas present for my brother and sister, as well as their partners. We decided to have a meal before the show, and chose the Lime St Bistro because it was conveniently located next to the Box office. Unfortunately, the experience started off on a bad note when I tried to call to book a table but no one answered. My sister ended up booking online for a two-course meal for three of us, with plans to meet the others in the foyer at 7:15pm. We arrived at 5:50pm, thinking we had plenty of time before the 7:30pm show. However, our food was extremely delayed. Despite ordering starters, my main and dessert were nowhere to be found by 6:40pm. After multiple inquiries, and noticing others getting impatient too, we finally got our food at 7:10pm. We had to rush to finish our meals and make it to the show on time. Despite asking to speak to the manager multiple times, no one came to address the situation until I personally went to the box office to request their presence. The manager apologized and promised a refund for our troubles. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing overall. The staff appeared inexperienced and the service was extremely slow. While my halloumi burger was decent, my sister's meal was inedible. The potential for this bistro is there, but they urgently need better management and staff training to improve. As of now, I would recommend avoiding this establishment.
We called in on 28th for pre theatre meal, having been in once before and had to leave our meal half eaten due to taking so long for our meals to arrive, we thought this was a one off, how wrong we were. We arrived at 5:40,10 mins later we had ordered, then 10 mins after that we had our pot of tea. At 6:25 I cancelled our order and we went to get sandwiches from M&S as we were in theatre for 7:30 show. we left 3 or 4 customers who were in the bistro before us still not served.
I visited last night with my mum and daughter before going to the theatre, we ordered main meals and a drink, waited quite a while for our meals which were so bad I only had a few mouthfuls before leaving it, watery curry and a bowl full of rice which was full of water too, when asked if the meals were ok i politely told the waitress it wasn't good, she said she would tell the chef. After this we were ignored, no one came near our table to ask if we wanted more drinks or desert, we were charged full price even though one of the meals wasn't eaten, wouldn't be complaining if they had at least offered us a complimentary coffee but judging by previous reviews on here they obviously don't care about there customers, will not be eating there again.
