Got here nearly an hour after they were supposed to be open but doors were locked, chairs were on the tables, and no one was in sight.
The first time i went, the food was ok, the place was a little dirty, but the service made up for it a little. I would rate it as 3 stars. But today, today they get a 1 star, so im splitting the difference at 2. Todays experience went like this, was greated at the door, and shown to a table, waitress notices the table she brought us to was filthy with liquid on the table and some chairs. Moves us to another table close by. It wobles more than an oomppaloompa! While taking our food ordsr the waitress explains that the Mexican restaurant we are eating at has no beans. They forgot to cook then or something and they would be ready later in the day. She tells us we can either have fries, more rice, or vegetables. We asked what veggies and were told. We get out food, and its terrible. Much different than my first experience. We ask for the check and thats when we realize there is a 4$ upcharge for the vegetables we were offered as a substitute for their mistake of not having beans. I am no cheapskate. I gladly pay for any upcharge, substitution i ask for, but when asked about the charge she said thats what we charge . If i had substituted, id understand, but they forced me into the substitution since they were out of beans. I asked why she didnt tell us about the charge before and she said she didnt have to. Neither time was this place busy. I will gladly drive to Walker from now on.
Not your typical Mexican restaurant from the ingredients to the serving ware. Unique menu items like the Kickin Cauliflower and Krazy Korn are delicious. The volcano burrito, seafood quesadillas, Big D birria tacos and rice and beans are all fantastic. Steak enchiladas and Let's Meat Up burrito were ok. Wait Staff is attentive and the kitchen staff/managers always make a point to come ask about our food. They have seating on the outside deck which overlooks a lake and a large space inside for bands and dancing. Hope more people give this place a try and they can stick around!
Portions are small for the price. Food was just average nothing spectacular. Rice was more like a pilaf.
