Old Mexico - Livonia

Charming neighborhood eatery. We really enjoy the food here and typically opt for takeout, but we decided to dine in to celebrate a half day of school. Like many establishments, they are understaffed at the moment, which resulted in quite slow service. Despite that, the food was still excellent. This is their fried ice cream, about a third of the way through. It brings back memories of the old Chi-Chi's dessert.

Honestly, we initially aimed for another Mexican restaurant nearby, but it was packed. Given the current situation with COVID, we wanted to avoid large crowds. I took my mom out for her 65th birthday, and we were promptly seated. The restaurant isn’t very large, but the food was delicious. Our server was incredibly nice, and I really appreciated the guy with blonde hair who answered the phone. The margaritas were delightful, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. My mom had a great time, so we will definitely be returning!

I've been dining at this restaurant for 15 years. They've consistently faced staffing challenges because it feels like a family-run establishment, and the staff mainly comprises family and friends. That said, I've become accustomed to it! The food, on the other hand, is always of high quality and remains extremely consistent. Over the past two years filled with COVID, they have raised their prices by about 10%. To me, this still adds up to a fantastic experience, and unless something significant changes, Old Mexico will always receive a five-star rating from me. I believe in supporting local businesses and ownership!

Always very good. Large portions for the price. Nice employees that provide solid service. Highly recommend. Could use a deep cleaning but that's most restaurants. If they had above average sanitary conditions I'd five star it. It's not overly dirty either. Just normal restaurant stuff.

We moved away but came here on Sat. Glad we did! Very very sweet waitress (wish I knew her name..it was in the afternoon around 2:30). Food and prices were great! The homemade salsa was to die for! We will be back again!!!!
