The kitchen naturally makes an extraordinary job, but also the service staff is extremely professional, efficient and friendly! They also offer an amazing and local wine list including orange wine that has a delicious earthy taste. High quality ingredients and an amazingly qualified staff makes me want to rate this restaurant with 10 instead of 5 stars. The prices are also fair, which brings me to love them even more, as they have not turned into a pretentious, overpriced restaurant. If you check this place in Ljubljana!
With a seasonal menu that adapts to the gastronomic region, a young, dedicated team of culinary professionals and an inviting atmosphere, Luda has everything for it. A restaurant in a quiet part of Ljubljana, Luda emerges from the principle of serving organic, local dishes with a suitable regional wine. Luda offers Diners two options: either a three- or five-course menu, both are a great value. My friend chose the five-course menu while I went for the three to sample a variety of menus. While the menu is fixed and you are offered a choice between the two options, each dish is presented beautifully and creatively. You can see the thoughts and care that goes into any article on the menu. We chose both blood pudding with caramelized apple, mozzarella and radicchio as an appetizer, and it got my taste buds jumping. The baked apples, the bite of cheese and the bitter radicchio were perfect companions for blood pudding. My friend also tried the squid with carrots, onions and chives and found him excellent. Her next course consisted of risotto with king shrimps, pumpkin seeds and feta cheese, which I confess to steal a bite (or 2). For the main course I enjoyed a grass-feed Angus beef, with porcini mushrooms, kale pure and buckwheat. I scratched the plate clean. My friend found comfort in the pork neck with corn, sage and grapefruit, the colors live and rich. When we moved to dessert, I didn't know how each one of us could eat anything else. Then the waiter put a chocolate mousse with orange cake, orange foam and crisp caramel in front of me and made sense again. Decisive. My companion ended with a baked pear with cream and rosemary ice cream, and I had so much I didn't even enjoy a chance to sneak a taste! Luda is the gastronomic jewel of Ljubljana!
Crazy cozy food. Luda at it best Casual, Urban Understatement by enemy. Orange wine and biodynamic manufacturers are standard. Enjoy!
I came here a few years ago and enjoyed their modern absorption on the ingredients. It changes with the seasons and has a relatively small menu. They had this cold charcoal and fish soup, which was both refreshing, tasteful and not difficult on the palate. Modern gourmet food with a very affordable price tag.
The meal was generally pretty good and quite reasonably priced. Food is quite traditional Slovenian and quite unique. For starters we had prawn ceviche with fennel salad and marinated hake. The hake was actually the stand out dish for me. For mains we had panfried mullet with grilled leek, this was a bit salty. We also had mussels gratin in a tomato based sauce, which was pretty good. Dessert was a kind of brownie with sour cream. It was average.
