The special drinks of the day were always perfect, and the catfish nuggets were just perfect. The beer was perfect cold. The staff was a 15 out of 10. The entire pool area/ barares staff were great

I know the HRC Coconut Plantation and the Veranda are still recovering from Hurricane Ian. But we noted some changes and cutbacks that I hope will be corrected in the future.The Dragon Wrap, as I recall from a few years ago, included some crunchies as part of the filling. Now just the chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and special sauce. While still tasty the Coconut Shrimp plate lacked eye appeal. The few greens looked like an afterthought and the shrimp seemed smaller.The frozen drinks are always a hit for DH and me. The Miami Vice is a delicious duo of a Pina Colada and a Strawberry Daiquiri that is finished off with a dark rum floater.What we really miss are the daily specials ... for both drinks and food. It was fun to try a new drink everyday. Sadly, it has been a while since our favorite Goombay Smash has been on the menu. Last year a long-time bartender gladly made it for us. With new, younger staff, we didn 't even ask.We plan future visits to Coconut Plantation and being somewhat of a captive audience will continue to frequent the Veranda for drinks and light meals. Just hope things can be tweaked a bit to bring my reviews back to 4 (or 5) stars.
