Starting with an easy to use menu, excellent options, very reasonable prices, homemade EVERYTHING, clean and attractive sitting area and restroom, courteous and efficient service. Now to the food itself. My wife had the rib ends and green beans. There was a fantastic amount of rib ends, and the green beans were from scratch with bacon pieces. Shes extremely sensitive to MSG so can't eat most store bought BBQ sauce. But not only was their sauce delicious sweet and tangy, she had no MSG headache afterwards.I had the smoked turkey leg which i found to have the perfect amount of smoke flavor, and was super yummy. We can't wait to drive through this town again and get more delicious food.
Hello, overall the barbecue brisket could be more flavorful. Also, the chicken skin was very soft. Ribs good beans good potato salad good.Kid-friendliness: The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
We were passing through Lockeford a couple of weeks ago and decided to try this place since my 92 year old Dad loves BBQ. Also, the seating is in a cute outdoor patio which we prefer. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich for us to share. The sandwich was excellent. The meat was tender and good quality, sauce was delicious and the bun was very fresh. They put coleslaw in the sandwich which I have never had before, it was great. My Dad even said the meal was excellent which he NEVER says about any place! They did get my side order wrong and I wouldn't describe the lady at the counter as friendly, but otherwise it was a very enjoyable lunch. I am glad we don't live too far away and I am sure we'll be making trips out that way so we can eat at Daddy's again.
I sure don't know what happened to this place. We came by here last year about this time. We had never tried them before . I had the rib dinner and it was so tender. It came with cornbread and two sides. I got the potato salad and the beans and they were delicious. My boyfriend got the tri-tip sandwich and a side of coleslaw. This time I ordered the tri-tip sandwich cuz my boyfriend had said it melted in your mouth. It was tough and chewy and it didn't come with cornbread even though the waiter said it did. They only gave me one of my sides so I had to go ask for one. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was supposed to come with the side of coleslaw. He said it was gross and they put the coleslaw on the sandwich. It went from being the best barbecue we ever tried to we will never eat there again. That's sad.
The BBQ ribs were very good but the side dishes were over cooked. The place is very small and there is no eating inside. The patio eating area was decorated cute.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.
