We ate here 2 months ago apparently new ownership. The ownership was lovely and the chef excellent. Can't wait to go back. I think it was a German restaurant, now Italian.
Wonderful spot and conveniently located near the town of Locust Valley and the Locust Valley train station. Excellent Negroni and Old-Fashioned, and the bar scene was lively and welcoming. A wonderful spot for old friends to gather, families, or to bring a date for a quiet evening out. The focaccia that they served with our drinks at the start of the meal was delicious, tasted freshly baked. The appetizers offered some surprising, welcome options – Tuscan Onion Arancini and the Short Rib Sliders offered a wonderful, flavorful Italian twist on some familiar favorites. For our main dish, both my companion and I had the halibut – it was prepared with a fabulous truffle lobster risotto, which complimented it perfectly. The staff was very efficient and courteous, and the new management definitely seem to have added a more Continental (Continental European) ambiance, making this Locust Valley favorite a great place to have a truly elegant meal. The management were circulating from table to table, you could tell that they really wanted everyone to have an outstanding dining experience, and to improve on what the last management team had. The new management has created a warm, yet intimate environment that celebrates the long tradition of this Locust Valley gem. On the night we visited, you could tell that all the guests were having a fabulous time. This would be a terrific place to host a birthday party, engagement dinner, or work event. Can’t wait to see how this beautiful restaurant evolves in the coming months. Auguri!
Horrible food. Clams oreganata undercooked. Hamburger disgusting. Sauerbraten fair and shameful for a German restaurant. Given outlawed sytrofosm container for take out. Chicken piccata fair. And all expensive. Never again!
Locust Valley Inn can't get any better. Love the food, service, atmosphere. This restaurant has survived many times over and through the pandemic. I had their Shrimp Scampi dish...it is the best I ever had. Their chef is a food wizard. Definitely recommend LVInn to everyone.
