Culiacan has finally mastered the art of cooking steak and Mochomos shows it. We had tuna puffs, queso fundido, aged rib eye, mochomos rib eye rib eye a la tabla. Rib eyes outside the mochomos were truly mouthwatering. I consider myself an absolute lover for sweets but the mochomos steak was way too sweet to the point of almost been not edible. Sides were just ok. Absolutely great night outside a couple of minor cons, 1.the sides are not listed on the menu, it was a bit annoying trying to guess what they have without prices. 2. They were out of Tomahawk steak 3. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic, attentive, zero complains about his dinner service until the moment to pay: he mentioned the total he suggested was higher if we were absolutely pleased with his service. This was a difference of almost 700 pesos from the total of the ckeck (for Mexico that's absolutely insanely a lot of money). We saw the total, we were wondering how much to give him for a tip (since we didn't quite get his initial request/hint) he comes w the card reader and sort of reminded us of the total suggested. To the point that it became awkward uncomfortable. We decided to leave him cash, it was becoming like a sales man pitch which u starting to dislike very much. I understand percentages from totals suggested as tips. Sadly, we r forgetting that a tip whatever it may be it should be welcomed since it's what people decides or can provide with. If it were a standard, we would think twice about the place we dine at. Other than that, MOCHOMOS rocks the city with their amazing meals and decor.
Excellent service, good ambiance and magnificent food. There were five of us dinning, we ordered an array of appetizers, soups, salads and meat dishes. All (except soups) placed at the center of the table for sharing. Every single dish, was outstanding. The portions were plentiful and temperatures perfect. This restaurant could go head to head with any restaurant in Las Vegas. And I’m not family or friend of the staff or owners, I’m just that impressed. I recommend the fried panela appetizer, tortilla soup and mochamos rib eye. If you have any room left, treat yourself to the chocolate cake they call Sin and the carrot cake, sublime.
Really fast service. Drinks were always full and the food was awesome. I recommend the buñelo shrimp along with a steak. You probably can't go wrong with either one. He steak had a garlic butter that is prepared at your table. Yummy!!!
