Contribuisci feedbackI went for a business lunch mid week. Great view, nice restaurant, lovely staff, tasty food. However, I can't go back the cheapest bottle of white wine was £55! They could really do with a house wine at lunchtime for people eating in the bar, rather than the restaurant. Then I would happily return.
I booked City Social for my wife's birthday, and had booked for the bar, where I intended for us to enjoy some of our favourite cocktails with the bar menu, which advertises a very different menu from the restaurant. We had not booked for the restaurant. This was a surprise for my wife's birthday and she didn't know anything about it until we arrived. After making our way up in the lift, we were escorted straight through to the restaurant. I was confused as this didn't appear to be the bar, but hadn't been advised of any change by the staff, so thought that all was well and perhaps we were being seated in the restaurant instead. I also didn't want to ruin my wife's surprise by starting to question things. However we were presented with the restaurant menu, with no mention of the bar menu or my booking which had requested the bar. On the web site it states this menu is available 12:30-2:30. Not wanting to spoil my wife's suprise, I went with it. The food was very good, but I am very surprised that City Social did not contact me to ask whether moving our booking to the restaurant was ok. There was a significant difference in price between the two menus, hence the reason I booked the bar. I am only writing this public review because I contacted the restaurant by email to explain the above and have had no response in 48 hours. I think this is really poor customer service and I would not be recommending City Social to friends and family.
Second visit and not as good as the first. It felt rushed. We were not asked if we wanted a starter or any side dishes with our main meal of fillet steak. The dessert choice was very limited and not to our taste. When we paid we asked if we could have had some side dishes with our meal although not listed on the bar or main restaurant menus. We were told if we asked we could have had some. We were really looking forward to this experience as it was a treat. We left disappointed. Very unlikely we will return. We have had a lot better else where.
Enjoyed the ambiance, the view and the good service; I would recommend this place.
The worse meal ever. We sat in the bar for their lunch menu. Order the burger. Once it arrived it was dry and tough. I could barely cut the burger. It was a rock solid meat patty. We told the waiting staff who took it away and came back to offer an alternative which was chicken salad. Sadly the chicken was so heavily deep fried the day before that it had lost its moisture. My friend left most of her meal on the plate. When asked we gave the feedback which was promptly ignored. There was no offer to adjust the bill nor make any amends. Don’t waste your time or money. The view is superb but food in the bar rubbish with poor service Jason Atherton needs to pay more attention.
