But, the service and hospitality were poor to put it modestly. First of all the welcoming was great and there it all ended after the first order. Basically there were about 4 to 5 waiters who ran around different tables, but no one ever came to ask in 3 hours, how is everything and do you want something else. To have service I needed to stand up and ask or yell please hallo can I please have over the restaurant ... If our order was served, you would have a chance to talk to the waiter ... otherwise nobody. The food and especially the meat quality is great. In the end, when I shared my thoughts as I do now here, with the waiter Antonio, he blamed me to be the only and the first ever who complained and said that it was my fault. He said the restaurant is full and he can't do any better the restaurant was half empty). He also gave me a very bad blaming attitude and walked away middle of our conversation. Whatever the reason he acted like this, I felt very unwelcomed, and my evening was ruined. I can not recommend this place due to this attitude! Very sad evening in London.
After having my first Gaucho experience in Edinburgh I had to return, and once again it was perfect. The best place to have steak and a reasonable price! There are loads of steak restaurants who claim to be specialist, however Gaucho is the best there is. Brilliant as always
The meat is very well cooked, sides are tasty and kept naturally fresh, which is as it should be when eating proper argentinian steak. Staff are super nice at this place, and there’s also a wine specialist that can recommend the appropriate wine for you according to your tastes. Decoration is well achieved, dark ambience with just the right amounta of light. I’d totally recommend for a date or a night out with friends. Lastly, I’d suggest Gaucho add’s the famous « volcán de dulce de leche » as a dessert.
First ever visit to Gauchos for the Lost Years Scheme they had which was lovely. Food was absolutely amazing, not just the visuals but taste also. If I was to rate the food in order from best to worst(worst not even being bad, but just the order of fav to least fav). 1. Fillet, 2. Oyster Mushrooms, 3. Mac Cheese, 4. Burrata, 5. Bread, 6. Chicken(the chicken was a bit too salty). The desserts were amazing, sticky toffee pudding was 10/10, loved how the chef saw we needed more cream and toffee and just sent it to our table! Brownies was 9/10 felt more like a cake and no nuts, however still very good. Our waiter Davide was amazing and very understanding. Toilets were smelling fresh and clean. Would definitely recommend this branch to others.
Beautiful Sunday dinner with friends. Served be very attentive Marianna, enjoying severely underpriced bottle of catena chardonnay and laborum malbec. Chateaubriand supper tender, highly recommended!
