There’s plenty of choices…. The Roti Canai is very good, flaky and crisp Roti, flavoursome curry…. Top 3 in London….mee hoon goreng seafood…. Vermicelli noodles with seafood and egg…. Mouthwatering good, right amount of spice, very authentic in taste, fresh seafood… washed down with iced teh tarik, correct amount of sweetness and flavour….. take away banana cake which thoroughly enjoyed on train home…. Amazing recommendation and you’ll struggle to find a better cafe that caters for many cuisines….
I think that they mean well, but the food is prepared with heavy-handedness. The char kuey teow I had was very salty. The satay was deep fried rather than barbecued. I'm glad I tried it but I won't be returning..
The best dinner you can have in London for only £11. The Malaysian cuisine is excellent, especially the Chicken Laksa which is superb.
Excellent inexpensive Malaysian food from Kakak Aini in Portobella London. Tastes is very original friendly service.
I have lived on Portobello Road my entire life, and I am now 63 years old. When Makan first opened, the food was exceptional. My mother, siblings, and I frequented the restaurant. I also knew the owner, a friendly man with a lovely family. My workplace held meetings there and we brought many customers. However, the quality of the food has declined - it is now too salty, some favorite dishes are burnt, and certain staff members are neglectful in their service. This is not a good image for the restaurant.
