It used to be a proper boozer, loads of characters, just like when I was growing up and grandpa used to take us… now… what can I say? Drinks are cheap but that’s all. No atmosphere, this pub now sits in between a Wetherspoon (for prices, even the menu looks similar and what the OCA was before the new management . Not impressed.
Wicked pub, plenty of space, excellent food, darts, pool, a **** good pint and an impeccable vibe. The atmosphere here is everything, there's charm without tat, buzz without being overwhelming the staff love their home and welcome you into it and it shows. It's a great location and I can't think of a better place to chat and enjoy a really well looked after beer. Katie and George deserve a special mention they really made us feel like we were welcome in their home attentive, charismatic and professional. We will be back, thankyou!
My friends and I were looking for a welcoming pub to get a drink in and get out of the cold and this pub didn’t disappoint! We were served by an amazing person called Katie! She had great knowledge of the gins they served and even suggested a few I hadn’t tried before and i wasn’t disappointed! Thanks for making us all feel welcome Katie!
Popped in for a quick drink on our way walking towards the river on a very hot Friday evening. What a nice surprise lovely pub, friendly staff and novel menu. We just had to try the pie minister mothership. A real treat definitely recommend. I had the chicken portobello and chestnut mushrooms pie and mark had steak and Stilton. Get the crispy shallots too adds a lovely texture.
