Very innovative cuisine that was harmonious.. Imaginative wine list.
Great combination of fantastic food and relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Each of the courses, including 'snacks ' were delicious. Still talking about the menu!
The restaurant was empty when we arrived for our reservation. We were not attended to as promptly as we should have been. Another table was seated not too long after us and were served right away. When a restaurant is as empty as this with plentiful staff, service should have been much better. Our plates were not cleared or changed after each course. We had to ask for this. With food this pungent and flavorful, plate changes should be a given. We also had to repeatedly ask for water. There was a very cursory explanation of each dish, and the recitations were rushed and rote. The dishes were so unusual, it would have been nice if the servers acted as if they cared. When Chef Sully appeared, we were very excited to have the opportunity to perhaps speak with him. He spoke with the staff, then stopped by the only other table in the restaurant. For some reason, he did not come over to our table. We had really wanted to meet him, so I asked if he was still around and was told by a staff member that he was just outside. In fact, he was not. As for the food, it was sublime. The care in creating every dish and every plate was obvious. The beef tendons were truly outstanding, accompanied by the pancetta tomato ragu and and a flavorful oyster mushroom mayo foam. My favorite was the cucumber salad graced with mango, coconut and buttery sunflower seeds. Wow! My only culinary complaint is that every dish with oyster mushrooms was far too heavily salted and many dishes contained these. Also, the lamb dish was prepared primarily with lamb that consisted of only gristle and fat. The misses were serious.
I took the TASTING MENU and the NON ALCOHOLIC pairing. The service was mixed. The pairing was good, but clumsy and not synchronized with the dishes. Must have asked for them three times. The restaurant wasn't full. Signature dish was full of aromas Arepa, Auberginen Sambal, Bergamot Labneh) but then I got the BBQ Corn Fed Chicken, Turnip Cake, Cubeb Pepper Karamell SERVED RAW ... PINK!!! I had shy excuses... they didn't take my record. Two times I was expected to take my plate away and replace it with something else. No... no... they took their time and wondered if I wanted a piece of fish? Ellen! I was hungry and wanted to eat something. Fortunately, as I had ordered an additional dish, not part of the tasting menu) and they told me that at the end of the small gesture they won't charge me £12, but they calculated me £20 for the service: at the end. I stuck in him for 15 minutes with the raw chicken. The EXPERIENCE was a very good idea. I don't want to!
