We finally decided to give it a try since they now offer online booking. The starters are priced between £5 and £8, while mains range from £12 to £18. It is a BYOB establishment with a corkage charge, but they also offer tea and soft drinks on the menu. We found the tea to be a reasonable £2 per pot, but ended up spending more than expected on drinks due to the warm weather. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt more like a café than a restaurant, which was not surprising. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional in our opinion. The spring rolls were crispy with a hot filling and a slight chili kick. We personally prefer a more stew-like Massaman curry. The menu was extensive, and all the dishes were well cooked. If we decide to return, we might opt for some of their stir-fried dishes, considering the limitations of the kitchen. It is worth noting that this restaurant is cash only.
I have always had a positive experience when dining at this restaurant, but on this occasion, the service was extremely disappointing. From the moment my friend and I arrived, the staff member was unwelcoming and yelled across the restaurant to ask for our reservation name. Once we were seated, she immediately informed us that the table needed to be vacated by 8:30pm, even though we had only just arrived. Our server was unfriendly, miserable, and lacked basic customer service skills. The food was still delicious and of good quality, but the poor service and the fact that we were unable to pay by card has deterred me from returning to this restaurant. It is a shame, as it used to be a great dining spot.
We made a reservation for 8 people, but when one of us arrived, they did not have our booking recorded correctly. The staff insisted that we were at fault, but we showed them our online reservation to prove otherwise. The owner reluctantly made space for us without apologizing or making us feel welcome. The service was slow and when the food was brought out, the owner rudely announced the dishes without a smile, and became impatient when one of us couldn't remember the name of the dish we had ordered. Overall, the customer service was poor and I would not return to this restaurant. It's disappointing as I like to support local businesses, but we did not feel welcomed.
By hook or by crook, the threat of the loom in the thunder of the doom. One an eve so scare we ventured somewhere, we approached the corner, and there was Thai Corner, unpronouned. It felt like we were in a hospital with strip lighting but it was not hospital food I received. The lights would not be dimmed but our experience was nevertheless floodlit. The noodles were exrtroodles, the tofu was a strike and the num tuk hit it out the park. Her elegant necklace not to be neglected. My quend fried, do hurry with the Thai green curry. Excellent.
Me and my partner had been wanting to try this place for ages, so we thought we would have a date night here. The restaurant was empty on arrival, I ordered a starter and the green tofu curry. When my curry arrived, we found a hair swimming in the sauce- my boyfriend took it back to the lady serving us who apologised and got a replacement. The staff were NOT wearing hairnets) I had already started dishing out my curry before we found the hair and no replacement plate/rice/cutlery was offered so we asked for a new plate. When the bill arrived we expected the curry to be taken off the bill due to hygiene, it wasn 't so we asked if it could be, and she said rudely 'we brought out a replacement ' eventually, she turned around and went deduct it from the bill. When we got the revised bill, she had taken off the curry but charged us more for corkage!!! Unbelievable!!!! at this point we just wanted to leave- will not be returning which is a shame as we love thai : aside from this, the food was average for the price- bit more on the expensive side for the quality you receive.
