The staff were very accommodating, friendly and warm. The decor was nice. I highly recommend the Clermon Restaurant and Bar and what was great was that it was just around the corner from Victoria Rail station.
This is the second time I have eaten in the hotel's restaurant. My dinner companion and I both chose three courses from the pre theatre menu. We very much enjoyed the tasty, flavourful food and the deliciously smooth house red all for £24.50! The hotel is lovely with lots of art nouveau decoration and a relaxed and welcoming ambience. The restaurant is a good size and has a cosy and friendly atmosphere. Our table service was attentive, friendly and professional; we were very well looked after. We have agreed that the next time we meet up we should book the Amba Grosvenor Arms. My friend, who arrived at Victoria Station, was able to access the hotel through the station concourse and did not need to go outside (where it was raining heavily!
It was by viewing the website that I choose this restaurant (The Grosvenor Arms) however the first impression was nothing short of not what we expected. The service was very poor they had run out of all drafts beer lagers! We ordered what we thought was the best option (sausage mash, Burger the fish chips) non of our group finished any of the food so we paid and left early. Deeply deeply disappointed
Seemed to be a lot of wait staff in training when we visited. Pre theatre menu has good options but slow service meant we were rushed at the end
Today we visited the wicked afternoon tea at 12:30 a.m. My mother tried to call several times a day before, as we had some food requirements but could not get through. we were served at 12:40. we asked the server if we could have our...sandwiches without butter and a set with just sinking. they told us that this could take a little longer than we understood. it took about 1:30 a.m. and we were not yet served our food, my mother politely asked the server how long this would take as we were at the theater at 2:30 a.m. she said that our food would last longer because my mother did not follow cream and butter, and I only eat laughs (that was actually because of allergies). they said the sandwiches were prefabricated so they took longer what we understood. we were not served with our food until 1:40pm (we had only the table for 90 minutes). we quickly had to eat our food, we are served all the salmon (I don't eat fish) and no i mayonaise or crowning huh. we reached the point where we thought we were an inconvenience, so we did not ask to take that back. we then asked if the bill and the gratitude were automatically added if we were asked that we had not paid for it. but we didn't want to make any more inconvenience than we wanted to go to the theater.
