I was not disappointed - the mushroom-cashew pastry, gravy, roast potatoes, greens, and root veg were all delicious. The ****** Mary was a perfect complement to the meal. The service was also very pleasant.
The food arrived quickly after we placed our order (the restaurant wasn't very busy). The ambiance is pleasant, and they even have seating available outdoors.
I feel as though The Phene is one of those pubs everybody has a story about being in. It’s a total classic, tucked away just off the kings road. Now that it’s owned by Clive Watson, father of vegan influencers Lucy and Tiffany Watson, there is always a variety of good vegan options available. I love the hummus platter that is often available during the summer months.
The food was really great but unfortunately the service was really slow. The vegan Sunday roast was delicious though and I would come back for this alone it’s hard to find somewhere that does both a good vegan roast and meat roast for the meat eaters.
The Phene is a cozy and elegant pub that offers a variety of vegan and gluten-free options. We tried the tofu skewers, which were large cubes of tofu grilled with two sides: curried cauliflower, green beans, swiss chard, pomegranate and raisins curry, and creamy cole slaw. Every dish was perfectly seasoned and tasty, providing a surprising and delightful dining experience. The music added to the enjoyable atmosphere. If you're in the Chelsea neighborhood, be sure to visit The Phene - you won't be disappointed!
